What's new in v0.5.7

A new look: ATK Player now has the interlocking ATK logo as its icon.

New: ATK application icon

The new icon appears on the window title bar, taskbar, Start Menu shortcut, .atkproj project files, the installer and the welcome window. It is drawn at every size Windows asks for, from 16 to 256 pixels, so it stays sharp on high-DPI displays. Windows caches icons, so a pinned shortcut may show the old icon until you sign out and back in.

Notes PDFs for a whole playlist: File → Export Notes PDFs for Playlist… saves a Notes PDF for each clip you tick into one folder, named <clip>_review_notes.pdf.
Save confirmation: Save and Save As show Saving… and then Saved name.atkproj at the time in the status bar.
Add Existing reviews: the Review Library's Add Existing… button lists .atkproj projects you already have, and opened projects are listed too.
A/B Comparison: clip B follows the offset even when a comparison is started straight after opening a project.

Also recent, from v0.5.3

Hold drawings: turn on Hold Drawings with the pin button or Shift+H, and each drawing stays on screen until the next one, like a held key drawing.
Playback speed and zoom: the speed button shows the rate the clip plays at, such as 24fps or 12fps, and the zoom button shows Fit or the zoom percentage.
Drag Markers switch: dragging the orange marks under the timeline to move a frame's notes and drawings is a switch in the bottom bar, off to start with.

Upgrading

Install the 0.5.7 MSI over 0.5.6, 0.5.5, 0.5.4, 0.5.3, 0.5.2, 0.5.1, 0.5.0, 0.4.x or 0.3.0. It upgrades in place and keeps your preferences, projects and media.

Download ATK Player v0.5.7 for Windows using the release panel. Release notes and project source are available through the GitHub links, and the User Guide walks through reviewing a class or team, adding existing reviews, exporting notes PDFs for a whole playlist, free transform, copying notes and drawings between frames, and holding drawings.

1. Download the ZIP.
2. Extract all files.
3. Open the extracted folder and double-click `ATK-Player-0.5.7-Windows-x64.msi`.
4. Follow the setup wizard.

After installation, launch ATK Player from the Windows Start Menu or use the installer's **Launch ATK Player** checkbox.

The ZIP contains the Windows MSI installer, installation instructions and licence notices. It is about **130 MB** because the MSI includes licence notices and matching source materials for the application and its dependencies.

## What's new

## Upgrading

Install the 0.5.7 MSI over 0.5.6, 0.5.5, 0.5.4, 0.5.3, 0.5.2, 0.5.1, 0.5.0, 0.4.x or 0.3.0. It upgrades in place and keeps your preferences, projects and media. The project format is unchanged from 0.5.3.

## Requirements

- Windows 11 x64 (the currently verified release platform)
- Microsoft Visual C++ 2015&ndash;2022 x64 Redistributable

## Unsigned Build Notice

The Windows 0.5.7 MSI and executable are unsigned. Windows may show an Unknown Publisher or Microsoft Defender SmartScreen warning. Click **More info &rarr; Run anyway**, or right-click the MSI &rarr; **Properties** &rarr; tick **Unblock**. Verify the download against the published SHA-256 checksum.

## Verify your download

In PowerShell, run this from the folder containing the downloaded ZIP:

## Code signing policy

ATK Player is preparing to apply to SignPath Foundation. Approval and signing integration are pending; the attached Windows artifacts remain unsigned.
